Danny Zappin , Shay Carl , Lisa Donovan, Ben Donovan, Kassem Gharaibeh and Scott Katz were youtubers.

They banded together and created a Youtube MCN —-multi-channel network called Maker Studios.

The idea for Maker involved pooling resources, and bringing more video-makers into a kind of talent network.

Maker would provide resources like studio space, cross-promotion, potential deals with brands, and general expertise.

YouTubers who signed on would share some of their channel revenue. By 2012, they had about 55,000 YouTube channels with over 2 billion views per month.

Later they sold it to Disney for more than $600 million.
